Santos president Luiz Ribeiro says he will try to fend off interest in Neymar by offering the 19-year-old a new contract.
The Brazilian sensation's future at Santos has been a hot topic of debate over the last few days, with Barcelona and Real Madrid both understood to be making pushes to sign the highly-coveted player.
Earlier on Thursday, a report suggested a Barcelona delegation would land in Brazil on Friday with hopes of reaching an agreement for Neymar.
And to deflect interest from La Liga's big two in his prized asset, Ribeiro is determined to hand the forward an improved contract.
"I cannot give out any details [about the new contract]," he told Radio Globo. "I will not give him away.
"We want him to stay and we are doing our best to make that happen. If one day he wants to leave, I will respect that, because I feel gratitude and endearment for him."
Earlier in the week, Neymar's father declared the forward would not leave Santos before the end of the European season.
